Brad Pitt's "Killing Them Softly" was killing me softly...

So this week’s movie was “Killing Them Softly” starring Brad Pitt and a few other famous actors. Apparently, it was based on a book called “Cogan’s Trade”.

To be honest, the movie was really confusing to me. It seemed like it was going to be one hell of a new mob movie including one of my favourite actors, Brad Pitt. Unfortunately, this movie was really upsetting. Usually, Pitt doesn’t do any bad movies but this one was just a big failure. Not only in my eyes was if a failed movie, but even Cinemascore gave this moving an overall rating of an “F”.

I was totally confused, the trailer made this movie one of the anticipated movies of the month to see but it was just too boring and super slow and had no real plot of character development. It had nothing, whatsoever.

The movie started off with a long conversation between 2 of the characters. And when I say long, I mean loooooonnnngggggg. There is no clarification whatsoever as to who the main character is or who it should be. This basically seemed like a movie just to show off Brad Pitt as a leading hitman and that he could play a good mobster, but guess what? We already know Brad Pitt is a good actor so what gives.

Anyways, this movie is based on 2-3 guys who rob an underground poker game room who is run by Ray Liotta’s character. His character had already robbed his own game room so these current robbers do it for the money, also knowing that the fall would land on Ray Liotta’s character regardless. But people find out the truth and it’s basically an art of hit mans.

This movie also kept referencing politics and the American election from 2008 which made it even slower. It was too slow, not enough comedy, not enough action, too much talking nonsense, and not enough sense. This movie sucks. Definitely not worth your bucks. I give this movie a 6.5/10, just because I like Brad Pitt.

Bond..... James Bond...

So today’s review will be on the new James Bond film ‘Skyfall’. To be honest, I can’t even remember the last time I had watched a James bond movie. I believe this is the second film that Daniel Craig is playing James Bond. Anyways, point is I always enjoy a good action packed movie. I don’t remember any of the other James Bond movies I’ve watched in the past but I’d have to say that this one could be the best yet. This is a totally bias comparison since I don’t remember any of the other flicks but I would say SkyFall is definitely a must watch movie.

Good action and sexy characters? I can definitely be on board with that any day.

In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

There were some fails though, sometimes confusing if you haven’t watched any of the other Bond movies, just like I haven’t but that’s alright if you don’t have any high expectations for it.

Despite some flaws it was a good movie. It could have been better though. In my personal opinion this movie would get a 6.5/10. To me that is still worth watching. If anything this movie was great at getting both original fans and new comers to have new interest in the Bond franchise. Can't wait to see what the future bond movies got though!

Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 - Saving the Best for Last?

I know I’m a male and society believes that guys shouldn’t enjoy movie flicks like the Twilight series but to be honest… Breaking Dawn Part 2 was damn good and I freakin’ loved it!! In my opinion I believe that everybody likes Twilight whether they like to admit it or not. I’m not a serious fan, but I’ve watched all the movies in the series and enjoyed every one of them and this is definitely the best Twilight. Just like all good things, they must come to an end. And they definitely saved the best for last.

I’ve always enjoyed a good Twilight flick. I was already anticipating the movie and thought we wouldn’t be able to watch it the first weekend due to being sold out and all but we got advanced tickets in AVX with the best seats in the house.

I’ve never read any of the Twilight books and good thing because then the twist of the movie would’ve been spoiled for us. What I really enjoyed about Breaking Dawn Part 2 was the fight scene. So cliché, I know. But seriously it wasn’t as cheesy as the rest of the movie. And regardless or the cheesiness of the movie, I still enjoyed it.

So this was definitely my favourite movie of the entire series. The twist at the end was so unexpected and good… it was just completely epic.

So Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 is definitely on the bucket list of movies. And while you’re at it, you might as well catch up on the other films in the series because they are just so good. Definitely a 7/10 for this one.

To Watch or Not to Watch: Flight = Definate Watch.

Flight was an awesome movie. But I knew beforehand that it was going to be a good movie regardless. I realized that any movie starring Denzel Washington is good. In my opinion he is one of the best actors in the world. I enjoyed “Flight” because it had a really good story/plot and really good character development. It was a serious movie with good comedy so it was really entertaining.

In the first part of the film, Whip (played by Denzel) is a shown as a veteran pilot who is also an alcoholic. After a night of getting high on booze and cocaine, he is scheduled to pilot a plane with 102 passengers on board to Atlanta. Disaster hits when the plane enters a dive and the co-pilot loses control. Whip miraculously guides the plane to a forced landing and saves the plane. 96 survive.

The plot thickens as accusations arise towards Whip regarding his blood alcohol level while flying the plane. He had a blood alcohol level of 2.4% which meant he was potentially facing life in prison.

I don’t want to ruin the movie or spoil the plot so the last thing I will say about the story is that denzel Washington plays another compelling performance in “Flight”.  Bruce Greenwood plays a concerned friend, Don Cheadle plays his legal counsel whom he doesn’t like or trust, John Goodman plays the funny and awkward bestfriend and drug supplier, and Kelly Reilly plays his love interest. Amazing actors equal for an amazing movie. Overall, I rate this movie a 8/10 so go check it out!

Movie "Seven Psychopaths" is guaranteed a must watch movie! One of the best movies of 2012! The movie is about writing a script based on the movie script… Call me crazy or insane but once you watch it you will understand!

I must say this film took me by surprise, I had no idea it was going to be this great. I definitely believe that Seven Psychopaths is a must watch movie! I must say that this movie may be one of the best movies of this year.

The trailer gives away very little about the movie and sometimes those are the best kinds of movie trailers, it leaves the viewer room for surprises.

This film is about a screen writer named Marty (Colin Farrell) who is trying to write the perfect script for his movie with the help of his two friends Billy and Hans. His two friends are dog kidnappers; what they do is steal dogs from wealthy people and wait for the reward posters to come up. So Billy and Hans end up stealing a Shih Tzu but they stole it from the wrong guy. The Shih Tzu’s owner ends up being a mafia crime boss (Woody Harrelson) giving Marty and his friends more than what they bargained for. Marty’s movie script so happen to be the same title as this very film, Seven Psychopaths. His script basically talks about seven different Psychopaths as he comes across them in the movie.

This film was really my kind of movie; it was an action, comedy, with a whole lot of craziness. Marty struggles throughout the movie with his script but as the movie progresses he gains the inspiration to finish his script, with all the psychotic stuff going on he better hope he will live to tell his story. You must go check it out yourself and see if this is one of your best movies of 2012.This film was very close to perfect in my opinion 8.5/10, definitely a movie to put on my must watch list. Let me know what you think!
